Guest Blog: Cory in the House
Prior to his Brewers broadcasting debut Wednesday in Arizona, new radio broadcaster Cory Provus stopped by the House of Blogs for a proper introduction. Please help me welcome young Provus to the Brewer family by clicking the comments icon below.

Greetings from beautiful Arizona! I could go on-and-on about the weather but that's just down right cruel. Anyway, I arrived in Arizona (Sunday) and the excitement regarding the upcoming season is building among the fans, players, coaches, front office staff, and one newly named Milwaukee broadcaster. I am truly honored to be here, truly. This is a job that I aggressively pursued for a variety of reasons. The passion, and knowledge, Brewers' fans across the country display on a daily basis played a huge factor.

I love baseball. Always have. I recall my first game with my father when I was a kid. The smell of the grass. The crack of the bat. Hearing vendors scream, "Programs...Get Your Programs." It didn't take me long to get hooked to the game of baseball. To this day it's a rush that doesn't go away. Actually, I hope it never does. Bob Uecker and I look forward to bringing you a ton of winning baseball in 2009. I have so much respect for my broadcasting partner. I look forward to learning about the game from Bob, but also having PLENTY of fun along the way.

Brian asked me to write a few things about myself. If you see me walking around town, or doing some prep in the booth before the game, good chance I'll have my ipod going. I am a huge fan of music. Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews, U2, Keith Urban, Springsteen, just to name a few. I keep a pretty healthy lifestyle; some will argue that I'm a bit obsessive about it.
In closing, thanks again for welcoming me into your lives. Here's to a great season for the Crew in 2009....
Best,
Cory

Cory, I'm a Brewers fan from Des Moines, IA. Unfortunately we don't get radio coverage of the Brewers here, but we do have a local station that carries Cubs games.
Because listening to Cubs games is better than not listening to any game at all, I've tuned in to Pat, Ron, and you as often as I could, and all of you make listening to the Cubs, um, bearable. (There's a compliment in there somewhere.)
I was thrilled to read that you're Jim Powell's successor, and I'm looking forward to another season of "tuning in" (over the web) to as many Brewers broadcasts as I can. The organization is lucky to have you. Best of luck.

Cory:
Welcome to Milwaukee! I've been listening to you and Bob for some of the spring training games, and I agree with you that I can sense the excitement for the upcoming season building. In fact, from what I've seen in spring training, I'm willing to go out on a limb for a bold prediction: I honestly believe that the Brewers will give the Cubs a run for their money this year. It will be nip and tuk between them for much of the season, and I think the Brewers may exceed their 90 wins of a year ago.
GO BREWERS!!!
